Circa 1907

According to records, even before construction of the Town Hall was complete, Superintendent Dowler began to solicit various vaudeville shows (see photo at right) for possible bookings in the second floor of the building.

Records further indicate that the rental fee for a night was $5.00, with some percentage of the gate also going to the coal company. Shows were never booked during the winter months, when roller skating was the only activity conducted on the second floor.
